Workshop 1 Week 2:
Introduction to managing,
strategising and innovating
Tutor:

Name card/plate
The tutor will provide all materials needed (cardboard and permanent marker)
1. Fold the cardboard, ensuring the widest space to write on
2. On one side, using the permanent marker, write your preferred name in
CAPITALS/UPPERCASE (i.e. DONNA)
3. On the other side, using the permanent marker, write your first name (only first
letter in capitals then the other letters in lowercase) then write your last name in
CAPITALS (i.e. Donna DENYER)
➢ The tutor will collect these name cards at the end of each class and bring
them to the next class

Exercise 1: Managerial Mindsets
Reflecting on the 5 managerial mindsets and assessing which ones you are
strong in and where you need development.
• In pairs – share your reflection with your pair
• Which mindset do you prefer?
• Which mindsets do you struggle more with, and how could you improve?
• Thinking about your dominant mindset - move to the mindset stations
(around the room). Repeat for mindset to be improved.
