Exam structure and permitted materials:
The exam paper will consist of 4 questions that require written solutions. You will be required to write
your solutions on paper. All working out will need to be included with your solutions.
Each question is of unequal value, and may contain multiple parts.
There is a mixture of calculation and theory type questions.
The exam is worth a total of 100 marks.
The whole course is examinable. Because you are sitting the exam away from campus and because
the exam is not invigilated, this is exam is open book.
HOWEVER, it is not permitted to contact and collaborate with other students or persons during the
exam. You will be required to sign a declaration form and submit the form with your completed exam.
This form will be available on the Wattle site for you to complete with your exam submission.
Preparing your exam for submission:
Please ensure you include your student number on every page of your written answers.
Once you complete your exam, you will need to scan/photograph your written pages. The software
package ‘Microsoft Office Lens’ is a very useful tool for scanning and combining pages together for
emailing. A document has been placed attached to this email with information on how to use this
software. Note that the instructions on using Microsoft Office Lens include instructions on how to
upload your scanned files to OneDrive (in pdf or other forms).
My preferred format is either PDF or JPEG, so please use the PDF and/or gallery options for saving
your exam paper. Please note the scanned document can be no larger than 20MB.
Please ensure you save the exam with the name of the file being your student number followed by
the course code” eg u1234567 FINM7006.
You are welcome to use other software or methods to scan and combine your exam papers if you
wish, but please ensure you have practiced using these and know they will work.
Please be aware of the quality of your exam file when you are preparing the submission, and in
particular that the text on each scanned page is legible.
Please trial using Microsoft Office Lens before the final exam. This can be as simple as scanning a
few pages of your notes, and emailing the document to yourself to ensure you are able to use the
software.
