Maximum word count for this box: 100 words
Excerpt a) is taken from:
Academic journal article.
At least one piece of linguistic evidence:
Complex sentences.
“Virtual team management, which is …… to achieve organization goals.” is one of the complex
sentences in the above excerpt. It explains the meaning of VTM and how it helps corporations to
maximize organizational goals. This linguistic feature can help the writer to show and
sequentially order the relationships between his/her ideas in academic writing. For informal
writing, the sentences are less complex, which allows readers to read easier.

Firstly, I am equipped with the ability to use different languages to express business and
economics-related concepts appropriately. After completing various learning works in this class, I
learned to use suitable academic linguistic features by paying strong attention to the genre's
audience, purpose, and context.
Equipped with these writing capabilities, I will continue to evaluate and improve my writings by
such standards. For instance, if I am asked to write a business collaboration proposal, using more
boosters is critical to show that our company is confident with the provision of services and more
competitive. Using cohesion devices is also vital for our business partners to understand the
logical flow of our collaboration. At the same time, I will not neglect the importance of hedging to
withhold the company's full commitment to the partnership.
Moreover, for my future writing tasks, to ensure I understand what I am trying to accomplish in
the paper and the target audience, I will set self-directed guidelines after examining the grading
criteria or nature of the writing. Therefore, I will continue to apply the microanalysis of my papers
in the future.
